Project Management Program
This program prepares students to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control a project to ensure its success. That's true whether their area of interest is the arts, community or social services, business or government administration. If students are a seasoned professionals, this program provides the opportunity to learn new skills to advance their career faster.
The program gives students a comprehensive foundation in project management and organizational management that applies to not-for-profit, for-profit and government organizations of all sizes. The activities, cases and projects are focused on small–medium sized projects, and are uniquely non-technical in their objectives and learning outcomes.
Under the direction of professors who are both outstanding educators and well-experienced in the project management field, students will learn through:
- Identify clear project objectives and detailed project requirements.
- Develop and monitor performance measures.
- Create valuable project management plans.
- Manage communication with all team members and project stakeholders.
- Arrange and control finances.
- Manage project constraints including scope, quality, cost and time
Public Relations - Corporate Communications Program
Can corporate communications be considered an art form? That's how Sheridan approaches the subject. It's a unique approach among business communications programs, and it produces student work that stands out. The courses in this program feature hands-on, project-based assignments. Students will be working for real-world clients, not just doing classroom exercises.
It takes less than a year to earn a Public Relations – Corporate Communications graduate certificate from Sheridan. Students will build a portfolio, get real-world experience and master both practical and theoretical aspects of business communications. Students will spend the last five weeks of the program in an onsite job placement, working with professionals.
In this program, students will learn to:
- Apply the critical, analytical and strategic skills prized by employers in corporate communications and public relations.
- Weave social media and diversity communications into all aspects of tactical delivery.
- Earn an audience's attention, influence attitudes and motivate behaviour.
- Produce internal corporate communications plans and activities — the fastest-growing segment of the industry.
- Prepare strategic plans, crisis responses, media campaigns, fundraising initiatives and other planning documents.
- Develop strategic communication campaigns that integrate all of the above elements.
