Bachelor of Science - Mass Communications/Journalism

In Bachelor of Science - Mass Communications/Journalism, student will find a multitude of options for study in their preferred media field – television, radio, print, web, social and digital media, public relations or advertising. They have chosen a field that is constantly evolving in theory, strategy and technology. Their classrooms and faculty are evolving, too. They will mix classroom instruction with hands-on experience in the latest techniques and technologies. They will be mentored by faculty, many who also work as media professionals. They will build skills and practice their craft at award-winning campus television and radio stations, web and print publications. Practical internships provide an additional stage.

This program is a combination of theory and skills to prepare students with strong backgrounds in media history, ethics, theory, law, social institutions as well as skills to prepare them to be competent media practitioners, savvy media consumers and informed citizens. Courses of study under the domain of mass communications include advertising, public relations, social media, journalism and broadcast.
