Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - English Literature and Spanish (With a Year Abroad)

English Literature and Spanish with a Year Abroad is an exciting and challenging course which opens up a range of career possibilities by helping students to develop transferable skills that employers want.

Students will have the chance to explore national and global literatures including Renaissance writings, Gothic and genre fiction, 19th century literature and contemporary fiction. Other topics include gender and culture, creative and professional writing. 

Students will also become a scholar of the rich language, history and culture of Spain, Portugal and Latin America. The course covers contemporary Spanish politics, 20th and 21st century Spanish and Catalan literature as well as translation and teaching.

Students can further enhance their career prospects by spending a year in a Spanish-speaking country.
