English Language Preparation + 2-Term Pathway - International Foundation Year - Life Sciences - Continue to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Microbiology

The Life Sciences International Foundation Year leads to a wide range of degrees in biology and chemistry-related subjects at the University of Surrey. During the International Foundation Year you will study a core unit of general subject skills, and subject-specific units, which are carefully designed for your academic development.

The English Language Preparation program is available for students who need to improve their English language skills in order to reach the required level for your programme at the University of Surrey International Study Centre. After successful completion of the English language programme, you will advance into your international foundation year.

Upon completion of the pathway portion of this program, students will enter the Veterinary Medical Science program at the University of Surrey. The BSc Biological Sciences course will give you the opportunity to study biological structure and function at various levels, from molecules to cells, whole organisms, and beyond into communities and ecosystems. You’ll develop your knowledge in a number of current areas including environmental impact, human and animal health issues, and food security. You’ll study the topics that are fundamental to biosciences and will have opportunities to specialise and tailor your degree, particularly in your final year, to the areas that interest you. The skills you will develop include critical thinking, the ability to solve problems, evaluate evidence and analyse data. These skills will be with you for life and prepare you for a wide variety of careers.
