Bachelor of Design - Visual Communication Design - Character Design and Illustration

Students of Visual Communication Design (VCD) in the School of Communication Design (SCD) develop professional careers in advertising, graphic design, illustration, and character design through specialized program streams grounded in practice, solid drawing and visualization skills, and industry relevance.

This program offers two streams of study that are grounded in industry-relevant drawing and visualization skills:

Character Design and Illustration: Students in Character Design and Illustration depict real and imagined worlds and people through visual storytelling to inform and entertain, learning to develop characters, content, concept art, and compelling narratives. 

Studio facilities:

• Spacious classrooms with wireless internet access and colour-balanced lighting
• Ergonomic seating, ample layout and workspace, and industrial sinks
• Integrated colour projectors
• Actively ventilated spray booths on each floor
• Studios located within easy access of the campus print facility
