Business Foundation Year for Progression to International Year One

The new May 2025 International Foundation Year (IFY) in Business is available at Liverpool John Moores University ISC. This pathway enables students to progress to the International Year One (IY1) in Business in January 2026 and then advance to Year 2 of their undergraduate degree by September 2026, allowing them to graduate on time with their peers in 2028.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) – Business with Finance and Economics

The BSc (Hons) Business with Finance and Economics program at Liverpool John Moores University is designed to develop students intellectually and prepare them for successful careers in business and finance-related roles across various industries.

Students study vital business principles such as digital business intelligence, organizational behaviour, and strategic management while following a financial pathway that includes corporate investment, financial management, personal finance, and financial reporting.

This program is part of the 'Business with' suite, which allows students to transfer to a different specialism, such as Digital Marketing, International Business Management, or Media Communications, at the end of their first year of study.

An additional advantage of this degree is the optional sandwich year, during which students can complete a 48-week paid work placement in the UK or overseas. This placement allows students to apply many of the concepts and techniques developed during the first two years of study while enhancing their personal skills and strengthening their CVs.

Students who complete the placement year in the School’s more established degrees often experience significant improvements in their academic performance. Many go on to achieve first-class honours degrees and frequently return to work for their placement company after graduation.

Liverpool Business School maintains partnerships with business schools at universities and colleges across Europe, the USA, and China. Students in this program have the opportunity to spend a semester during their second year at a partner university abroad as part of their studies. Additionally, students may choose to spend an extra year of study at one of Liverpool Business School’s partner universities between their second and third years. All study abroad opportunities are conducted in English.

There are also numerous supported opportunities for activities at partner universities during summer vacations, and Liverpool Business School offers places on language skills courses.
