Business Foundation Year for Progression to International Year One

The new May 2025 International Foundation Year (IFY) in Business is available at Liverpool John Moores University ISC. This pathway enables students to progress to the International Year One (IY1) in Business in January 2026 and then advance to Year 2 of their undergraduate degree by September 2026, allowing them to graduate on time with their peers in 2028.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) – Business with Media Communications

The CIPR-accredited BSc (Hons) Business with Media Communications at Liverpool John Moores University is designed to prepare students for successful careers in public relations, offering exciting placement opportunities.

The Business with Media Communications degree equips students for careers in public relations roles within corporate communications, internal communications, event management, or areas related to online public relations, such as search engine optimization and social media strategy development.

The teaching team comprises PR practitioners who deliver sessions and invite guest lecturers from the industry, providing students with opportunities to learn about real issues and link theory with practice.

This program is part of the 'Business with' suite, which allows students to transfer to a different specialism, such as Finance, International Business Management, or Digital Marketing, at the end of their first year of study.

An additional advantage of this degree is the optional sandwich year, during which students can spend 48 weeks on a paid work placement in the UK or overseas. This experience enables students to apply the concepts and techniques learned in the first two years of study, develop personal skills, and enhance their CVs.

Students who complete the placement year in the School's more established degrees often experience significant improvements in their academic performance, with many going on to achieve first-class honours degrees and frequently returning to work for their placement companies after graduation.

Liverpool Business School has partnerships with business schools at universities and colleges across Europe, the USA, and China. Students on this program can spend a semester in their second year at a partner university abroad as part of their studies. Additionally, students may choose to spend an extra year of study at one of the partner universities between their second and third years. All study abroad opportunities are taught in English. There are also supported opportunities for activities at partner universities during summer vacations, and Liverpool Business School provides places on language skills courses.
